EMPLOYEE CATERING AREAS IN THE NEW HEADQUARTER OF THE SBB//

Services: Design Concept

Client: Schweizerische Bundesbahnen SBB
Invited Entry Competition: October 2011
Size:  940m2 and 320m2
Construction Cost: total 1.500.000 EUR

Two locations in the two buildings of the new headquarter of the SBB, within the Wankdorf area in Bern.
Key of the design concept is the positioning of the corporate brand, sustainable and future-oriented.
Our inspiration was the colour design of the façade of the two buildings. This was developed by the swiss artist Mayo Bucher. His concept is based on the colours perceived when a fast train passes by.
Warm colours, mainly white and sand, up to a warm grey. Contrast is a clear white and red which is taken from the corporate symbol of the SBB. A warm metallic golden colour is added sparingly, which creates a comfortable atmosphere.
Materials: Ceramic, wood and felt as wall covering, Corian is used as counter cladding
